“What’s the plan B?” “If this fails, we’ve got plan B to fall back on” “Plan A is to become a mechanic, plan B is to become a manager at the department store I work at”
Plan B is our backup. It’s a safety net that we create just in case. But why?
As soon as we set a plan B for success, we’re doomed to fail. We’ll chase our goals, but the comfort of knowing there is something to fall back on distracts us from our full potential whether we choose to notice it or not.
Have your plan A and back up plan. Don’t give yourself a plan B.
If something goes awry with Plan A, use your back up plan(s) to keep going. The difference between your back up plan and and plan B is that one is another route to the same destination and the other is settling for another.
Plan B is great for food options, gift choices, and vacation destinations, not for your future.
There is no reason to have a plan B because it distracts from plan A
